OnStage Media for Director is used to integrate playback of MPEG-1, MPEG-2, .VOB and other multimedia* file types into Macromedia Director and Authorware presentations. The OnStage Project Manager (included) makes it easy to create projects intended for delivery as distributed CDROMs, kiosk, notebook presentations, and network applications. OnStage Media for Director will work on all 32-bit Windows platforms (Macintosh is no supported at this time). OnStage Media for Director is a native 32-bit Xtra that does not require any installation for playback from a projector. New features include frame accurate preview, Cue Points compatible with all associated Lingo and playback controls, AutoFind for locating content on removable media and more. Projects created using OnStage Media for Director can be distributed royalty free unless the project uses the optional embedded MPEG-1 decoder. This decoder can be distributed with the project extending playback to Windows PC's that do not have a MPEG-1 decoder present. There is a per-disc royalty for the distribution of the decoder. OnStage Media for Director now has enhanced Director Shockwave and Authorware Web Package support so you can easily distribute your presentations and applications via the Internet (or local Intranet). * All media formats require the appropriate decoder to be installed on the playback system. The only exception being MPEG-1 video when used in conjunction with OnStage Media for Director's optional embedded MPEG-1 decoder technology. QuickTime formats are not supported at this time.
